2009 ss ve showing CHECK ENGINE\CONTACT DEALER light... Hi everyone, i just bumped someone from the front after he hit sudden brake which left a black mark and a minor crack on my front bumper but after that the " check engine\contact dealer " showed up and and a yellow light on the left and the fuel needle has dropped down to empty, even i filled it up again but still showing empty. Although i do not feel any sound or problem whatsoever while driving..any ideas...shall i drive it to dealer or must toe it...
fyi...I DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY FOR LIKE 2 MINUTES TO TRY LIKE I READ ON ONE OF THE POSTS BUT STILL THE SAME MESSAGE...ALSO AFTER I RECONNECTED THE BATTERY I THINK THE CLOCK WAS SUPPOSE TO BE RESET BUT I DIDNT, IT SHOWED THE CORRECT TIME AND DATE ALSO, ALTHOUGH THE AUDIO SETTING WERE RESET....
It could be that a sensor or something has been affected by the shock of the collision. I had the same issue with a sensor or something similar previously causing the ESC to turn itself off now and then and it led eventually to me receiving the "CHECK ENGINE" message coming up.
It's a little hard to give any concrete sort of answer with it being impact related - could be a number of things.
sure i can see whats going on here "nah officer i swear that my esc keeps turning itself on and off, thats why i put my car round that corner sideways"
leave the battery disconnected for longer it should be 20 mins to drain any left over power in the system. if it appears just drive to the deaaler
Out of the blue my check engine light come on and stays on and every time I take my foot off the accelerator to slow down or brake the ESP turns itself off and when i reach a certain speed it turns itself back on again beeping the whole time it is doing it. Or just stays off for X amount of kms and turns itself back on again. I am at my wits end with this, the beeping is driving me insane and I have to have the music loud just to drown the noise out. It has been doing it for a while now and Holden told me that as long as the engine light is not blinking there is no real issue. Well the "no issue" my car slid out badly. Turning ESP off on the console makes no difference as it just beeps away and flashes anyway. As soon as I turn the car on check engine comes up on display and the light stays on. How do I fix this??
I had the exact same thing happen. Refer to my post above. A Holden service centre said it was something to do with a faulty sensor.
Has this worked for anyone, I was accelerating hard took my foot off the gas gearbox done a funny change car jolted and now light on, i've had some work done including MAFLess OTR tune could this have something to do with it.
i have a series I ute and i had the same issue with the ABS,Brake and stability controls warnings flashing. one of the fuses under the bonet had blown, so after i replaced that the warnings went away, but now i have the engine warning light flashing.
I drive a ve sv6 only just got it and recently got a 'check engine' message got the RAA out an the dude plug this thing into it apparently it was a 'idle speed forgotten' or some rubbish error code. he said everything else was fine and not to worry. So that was all sweet once he re set it. Few days later and the ESP is turning itself off and also getting a dealer message. Then after a while it goes away and esc comes back on?? This has happened twice now. Frustrating I have no idea what the go is?? Should I try resetting the battery (will I need codes for the radio, if i do)..... Or take it to the dealer (not sure what they will be able to do aside plug the computer in and tell em every things fine and charge me x amount in the process. Please help.
I have had the problem. Was to do with the tbs and turned out to be the computer resetting all the time. New computer so far so good. 1350 later thought not good.
Hi mate , what was the problem why your esp kept turning off and check engine light ? Cause i have the same problem
the MAF is used for part of traction/ESP system if u have removed it now then may need it back on there
Just a Just a guess here but how old is your battery? If your battery isn’t up to scratch then it’s known to cause weird issues like this in the VE also another common one is the abs sensor loom on the drivers side rear wheel, cheap and easy fix if this is the problem. You really need to get the codes scanned to work out what’s going on
