Because there isn't much of a market for that sort of car in the UK.

Its competing with BMW's and Mercs that handle a lot better and put out better power.

While over hear people get wet over a badly handling 307kw family sedan... :p

Still... would be nice for them to make it an out of the box option here.

who cares about handling, this thing would take it up to the germans anyway.
but it seems silly to release a bathurst edition of a car that wont get close to bathurst..

the other thing is, you can have walkinshaw performance 'upgrade' your clubsport already, i wonder what those packages cost in comparison to this special edition.. probably about the same by the time you had it all done.. so its probably not that bigger deal really.. but if you are going to spend all that money, why not have a special edition rather than a modified HSV i guess..

I would have thought it obvious why HSV don't sell these here???

Why sell a 417kw supercharged LS3 for $99,500 when you're still selling a 375kw 7L LS7 version for $155,000.

Pretty sure most businesses wouldn't undercut their own product with another thats more powerful and $56,000 cheaper.

We have a version of this here. It's the Walkinshaw Performance Clubbie...Only ours has 470 kW so it's even quicker.

...Pity the guys who bought W427's...

 so your basically saying you would be happiest with a Saturn 5 rocket? Goes fast, guzzles fuel and can't turn for s***. lol

And no... the Walkinshaw is not the same thing... because the Bathurst is a factory car and the "Walkinshaw Performance Clubbie" is a clubsport that you've taken to Walkinshaw and had modified with their performance pack.

And that is a substantial difference...

Have you driven a GTS?

If not, unsure how you can comment.

Also, its not competing against M5's and the like, a its not in that price bracket. Nothing from BMW or Merc get near that performance or power for that price. And yes that includes around a track, not just in a straight line.

^^^ not sure how driving a GTS has much to do with that comment of mine...

But no... I haven't driven a GTS... but i have heard reviews my people who test drive cars for a living that point out... that handling is not a strong point of ANY holden really... VE's included...

That's how I can comment... :p

My main gripe there was that you said "Its competing with BMW's and Mercs that handle a lot better and put out better power."

Which is utter crap. Name one Merc or BMW in its price range that puts out better power and could beat it around a track.

For the record, thats around 45,000 pounds.

^^^ I see why we are arguing now... by "better" power I don't mean more... i mean power that is useable and in an effective way.

But yes... the show piece for this car is the fact it has alot of power for buck (or pound rather).
