    Hi All,

Is it safe to unlock the rpm on my 2009 ve ss...I have a auto transmission with sports mode and triptronic as well BUT on all 3 modes the rpm never goes past 6, as a matter of fact it hangs on 6...ppl here get it unlocked from unofficial sources.

Is it safe or does leave a bad effect on the engine, although it does voids the cars warranty...lolllzz

Your motor peaks power @ 5900rpm If you want more power get a tune, extractors, exhaust, OTR etc.

Yes, unlock it. Then you can feel really stupid when you're walking down the road picking up pieces of piston and rod that have made an inopportune exit from the block.

hahaaaaaaa.....dat was some funny replies i guesss....well ive seen 2 cars wid unlocked rpm's and they did make a difference especially when the gear shifts from 1st to 2nd da tyres burn out or roll a bit like it does in 1st gear...Also these 2 cars were 5.7 litres (2006 ss) and mine is 6.0 litres, even then i could not beat them...As per them they only unlocked the rpm and nothing else, maybe they were lying....

Anyways if it is that much risky then im not gonna do it....Thanx for da gr8 info ppl....

if you replace the "d"with "th" you wont sound like so much of a bogan twit, although wanting to remove the factory rev limiter probably voids that comment......
I reckon your taking the piss..........:banstick: :banstick: :banstick: :banstick::banstick:

What you should do to beat them Ali is drill a hole in your intake manifold to suit some 1/4" clear plastic tube, run this from your manifold to inside your car(just use a 50mm hole saw to get in) buy a can of aerostart and as your about to drag start spraying it down the tube and this will give you a similar boost of power to NOS
    LOL

Seriously one of the electricians i used to work with did this to the snorkle on our work Diesel landcruisers (used to drag race them home, on a private mine road) cause the 2 cruisers used to do the same speed, but it made no difference, just stunk the cab out lol,

Please dont try this it was a joke and any of that start stuff is seriously flammable

Dude that is a stupid thing to say. In my opinion you will need at least a 3/8" tube to flow enough aerostart to win a drag race against an LS1.

So, if i change the stock air intake with a k&n or some other intake, how much difference will it make and does that effect the engine in a bad way or good way ? Dont mind if my questions sound dumb or amateur cuz im really new to these things...and this is my sporty car...
