Past couple of months my car has been shuddering intermittently but is getting worse and worse. The LPG gauge in my car also will randomly switch to petrol because its 'empty', but really there is a half-full tank of gas. For a week now there's also been a fast clicking noise coming from the engine bay. I have visited holden 3 times in past couple of months, being told there is nothing wrong with it other than maybe its just cold-i call bullsh*t because my car is doing this regardless of temperature/time of day, long drive/short drive, idling/in any gear and actually noticed it on sunday when driving on a brand new road too.
Just this afternoon i dropped into a LPG specialist to see if they could have a quick look. He couldn't tell me what's wrong because the car miraculously behaved for him! He did say though that the clicking sound is totally normal, apparently it's just the LPG injectors, although I'm not entirely convinced as this noise only started a week ago.
Tonight when driving, I noticed my car was lagging with gear changes and started jerking. The shuddering got really bad and when driving it was like I was in a truck. Not long after this the check engine light came on for the first time ever. I pulled over and turned the car off and turned it back on after a couple of minutes. The warning light had gone but shudder was still there, I kept driving because TAFE was like 2mins away.
When I left (3hrs later) the car was still shuddering so I thought I'd give petrol another go. I actually got home no dramas which is weird coz the shuddering was previously happening on petrol too.
I will be calling holden again tomorrow, but will pop into an impco specialist near home to see if maybe they can have a quick look. I'm hoping now that a fault code might be logged in the system. Ultimately though I will end up back at holden as I still have warranty till September this year. I don't see why I need to pay for something to be fixed when its covered by warranty. Plus being a single mum, I can't afford to do it any other way.
Sorry for the long ass story! Has anyone else had similar dramas ?! HELP lol it's driving me bananas
