So I just wanted to ask if anyone can help me with my car. It gave me an immobiliser sign, shut off and stopped responding to my key and then lost power totally, no lights on dash, no crank nothing. I’ve gone home charged my battery and changed my battery key and managed to turn my car on to drive home and this is what it looked like when I got home… is this car too far gone or can I still save it

You’ll need to get the intake off to see what’s going on. That only takes a few minutes.

Has the wrong coolant in it for a start.
Thanks, I know you should be using the red more expensive one. But does it make that big of a difference? This is my first car & loved holdens since I was a kid. Im still learning a lot & trying to save abit of money along the way. I service it myself but take it to the mechanics every couple services.

I also should have put some more background info on the car. Sorry I posted this very late. I’m at 260,000kms. This car has been the greatest most reliable car for the last two years and never broken down. Recently last three months I’ve had intermittent starting issues, would click and have battery power inside but then start eventually. Thought it was my starter motor but the problem actually went away and I concluded it must have been my car key is slightly bent from my heavy keychains. No problems again, had a check engine light come on and I ignored it (silly I know). Was making my way home when that immobiliser code showed up on my screen And the car died fully. Fast forward to yesterday when i drive it home with a charged battery and key, There was a terrible “whistle/click” sound I hadnt heard before and was worse at idle. And I could audibly hear a squeaky belt?? I want to say. Are these symptoms of an intake manifold leak or something other?

That might be cheaper but the car needs what it needs. At some point you would have mixed them because without specialised equipment you can’t get all the coolant out.

I’d be getting coolant filler pipe o-rings, a new genuine cap, new intake plenum gaskets (metal). Lots of distilled water (maybe 20ltrs). Red coolant.

Once the repair to the filler pipe is done, fill with distilled/demineralised water only.

Remove the reservoir from the wheel well behind the bumper and wash it out.

Do an air bleed and run for a while. Then drop all the water. It will have the diluted green coolant in it. Repeat and after another go you’d expect you’ll get it pretty much out. Then add the red and bleed the system thoroughly.

The high pitched sound and the clicking is normal. The car will have always done it. You’ve just never noticed.

It will do that at every shut down. It’s the throttle body recalibrating.

Or the high pitch noise was coolant and air coming out of the blown gasket on the filler pipe.
