Thanks for the response.....yep your right, there is a lot of info on the site, I have done the searching and have a fair idea how my car works. I know the AFM is a bit more difficult to play with and after looking through the site I'm still not sure I have the answer I'm after.
I should have been a little clearer in my question.
I would like the car to sound like a V8 and have a little more power, it's for everyday driving so I don't want to spend huge dollars. Changing the Exhaust seems to be a problem, is there an option that works?
thanks.
Hey Bud, if yours is a manual the AFM will be disabled so don't worry about that. If its an auto, could be an issue as you suggested with changing the exhaust. I've got a manual L77, recently fitted a Duspeed OTR incl MAF, 3'' pacie cat back and had it dyno tuned for a nice gain of around 40 rear wheel kilowatts. It pulls harder, sounds fantastic on both induction and exhaust and is what I would call a nice improvement over factory for the money. Dollar wise....$2,850.
If yours is an auto and you like the dollars and sound of the above set up, perhaps go a 2.5inch exhaust get it all done and then when your having it tuned take it for a drive before the tuner finishes and see for yourself if the AFM gives you a problem (exhaust wise) and if it does perhaps the tuner can disable the AFM for you. If it doesnt give you an issue, you get the best of both worlds so to speak.
I suppose it all depends on the dollars you are prepared to spend and what your definition is of a "nice" improvement. For some people a "nice" improvement might mean 350rwkw's........so its all subjective.
