    Hi All,
New member here, just had something very weird happen this morning on my way to work.

I stalled at a set of lights (I'm a P-plater so sue me) and ended up coasting to the centre of the intersection, not an ideal place to be stranded. Luckily I'm not in a big city.

Anyway, I turned the car back over and the engine started no dramas, however it took about a minute or two for me to be able to take off, as it felt like my gearbox had been lost to the road. My clutch felt light as a feather, I almost put my foot through the floor, and my gears weren't there, I could put my shifter into 1st or 2nd, but when I eased off the clutch, it wouldn't engage.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Or was it like a safety system or something? It was a sort of dragged out stall if that helps, it choked on itself and moved about 2-3 metres before conking out.

After about a minute the gears just started working normally again, as if nothing had happened. Needless to say I took it very slowly to work.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.

    Thanks all.

    Nah mate,
Still haven't ripped a skid, believe it or not, haha tyres are too expensive, also 90% of the time I have my 3 year old in the back so that's a no-no.
I could understand if I'd been driving stupid, but as far as I and my family is concerned I'm quite a responsible driver.

Interesting. Three times now (twice in my VF and once in my MY12.5 VE), I have experienced the same thing. In two of my cases, I just pushed the clutch back in and out, and it came good. I wondered if I had imagined it.

In the third, I was in my driveway when I noticed the clutch pedal felt very light coming out after I had engaged gear. I applied the handbrake and investigated. I found that the clutch pedal had only returned half way up. I then put the clutch in and let it out again, and all was well.

I reported it at the 15K service, but the dealer could not find anything wrong. I am watching closely from now on in both cars. Another occurrence and I will be on the dealer doorstep in a flash.

Good to know I'm not the only one out there, but at the same time it sucks. I had a mate have a look over the car, and he couldn't find anything wrong, but said that it's entirely possible that the clutch was stuck on. (I have noticed it can do this with the traction control on if you're revving too high and drop a gear) Somehow though I don't think that was the case when I stalled it, he said it may have been a bearing getting stuck in engage. I don't know too much about mechanics of cars but it sounds like something that can't be recreated, which would more than likely mean that the dealer/ service team could simply wave it off as we can't prove it's happening really.

Let me know if you have any more problems with yours Fekason.
