2011 VE SV6
Hi everyone, this is my first post.

I have a 2011 sv6, the engine is a 3.6 llt. It has an OTR and full hurricane exhaust. I love it, but obviously like everyone else on here, i wanna make it go a little faster. I just want a little more punch when i put my foot down.

I've narrowed my options down to either camming it, which I've had quoted at about $2700 including a tune, OR i can buy a manifold insulator and a 20% underdrive pulley kit. those two things with a tune is about $1500.

Has anyone got advice from doing either of these things? Did it make a noticeable difference for an everyday driver?

Thanks

Cam is definitely the bigger option with more gains to be had. Go for all 3.

Hi tommytt22,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Thank you for letting us know the details, the cams to suit LLT can be shown below.

https://www.maceengineering.com.au/epages/shop.sf/en_AU/?ObjectID=6206035

These cams provide power gains of approximately 30rwkw between 1500 and 6000rpm on a naturally aspirated V6 with a cold air intake and full exhaust system. These cams have been designed to work in conjunction with the factory valve-train and engine components, so you are not required to replace a thing. Dyno tune is mandatory,

This 20% Underdrive balancer kit increases horsepower by reducing parasitic power loss from driving engine accessories including alternator, power steering, and air conditioning. In regards to manifold insulators, you would be looking at around 6%, 10%, and 13% gains in torque down low for the 6mm, 12mm and 25mm manifold insulators respectively.

Our suggestion would be to start with the underdrive kit and insulator and camming it another stage when possible as you won't need tunes for these two mods.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Kind regards,
Michael
