Hey guys,

Just thought i'd post incase anyone has any question! Im getting a new sound system done soon! @ Performance Car audio in bayswater, Melbourne!

The set up will be as follows:

Remove front middle dash Speaker (distorts like a crazy grandma)
Front speakers - Alpine SPR 60C (type R), Component, so the two tweeters will be replaced too!
Rear speakers - Alpine SPR 60 (Type R), Coaxials have tweeters in them!
Amp - Alpine MRX V70, This is a 4Channel + Mono. Heard great reviews about it, and recommended with this set up!
Sub - SBS S12D4, (Type S 12'). Was a little tight on budget, but can expand in the future! /Wish i had 2 Type R 12Inch Sub's in the boot :D

Ofcourse using aftermarket Wires + Dynamat!

With installation, should cost me about $1800 or so!
Its a little pricey, but not many specialist in the area!

Feel free to post opinions & what not below : D
But im excited as ###K! :D

Sounds good mate. Pretty much the sort of system I'm looking at. Is that the price they quoted you? When you getting all this installed? $1800 sounds like a pretty good deal, for the gear alone going by the prices on the alpine website it's $1626 without the dynamat and installation etc.

It'll be loud that's for sure. Give it a couple of weeks before you crank it up though.

New speakers typically require a burn in period on the voice coils. Often 4-5 hours of "half" volume is enough. Over this time the characteristics of the speakers will change also. Often not noticeable though.

Edit.
Should also point out that many people are still undecided on if its fact or fiction. I personally am on the fact side as it makes sense. The spider loosens, the suspension loosens and a paper cone will develop its flex points. But both sides have pretty valid arguments.

My buddy who runs a recording studio leaves each new pair of monitors or headphones playing all day and night for several weeks. Bit too intense for me...

Dynamat cost me a little more than anticipated, all 4 doors + boot, all up was around the $2100 Mark ! But the sound system really kicks it!
If you upgrade to a Type R sub, your gonna blow $200 more on the sub, and atleast another $250 for an amplifier, so your looking at close to $3,000.
But im telling you, no regret about this system, its louder than any club i've been to, and makes me vibrate like crazy in my own seat while driving, the mirrors and windows all vibrate, with the stock head unit in the system.

10/10 But im craving for more!!

Sounds good mate. What is the sound quality like from the typr r speakers? Im not really after the massive bass but still want the sub, will have it turned down. Do you mind posting a pic of how they set up your boot? Cheers

The Type R Speakers are the way to go! Since you have an SV6, go for a pair of splits/component at the front, tweeters are amazing! & coaxials for the rear, i dont get any distortion from the speakers themself, even on 90-100% Volume, Because all low frequencies are diverted to the subwoofer. Here is the set up..

My amp, is mounted to the ceiling of my boot, right next to the sub : D & the sub actually takes up a LOT of room, more than anticipated, if you want, a custom boz can save you some space ;D & Dynamat, will help all the rattling and other annoying noises. My dynamat price was $60/door + $100/boot. Pretty good price, basically the cost price! iPhone Quality photos :'[ Sorry! & The owner was nice enough to give me a free Roux Knob for alpine! & that makes SOOO MUCH differance for the bass level on the sub.. around $50 i hear

Type R speakers are just loud and not much else. I had a set then swapped them out for a pair of Focal 165krx2 splits.
