Tesla gave me $25,000 for it. I had no serious offers in the month or so I had it listed.

Did you get a Model 3, or something more upmarket?

So is the Tesla your company car? That's a huge change from a V8 to an EV...

Yeah 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range. It's a massive change. I thought the V8 was quick. This thing is bonkers. Easily the fastest thing I've ever driven.

My mate nagged me to have a drive of his, he took me for a demo then made me drive.
Very impressive!!!
I thought it might be a steep learning curve. I imagined the central screen would be a distraction.
No and no, it just works! Only thing I had a problem with was indicating, didn't realise to indicate left, you use the left stalk.
Acceleration was great, and the brakes should last forever.
My mate uses it to commute between his home and his holiday house, a 700km round trip, has no problem charging it up.

I have had it for a week now. It's definitely an impressive car.
Getting used to using the left indicator stalk instead of right wasn't too difficult, but after 20 years of driving commodores the muscle memory still takes over from time to time.
Coming from the Caprice, I miss the heads up display projected on to the windscreen. But the central screen is fine. I do find myself speeding too often. The Caprice was a bit lazy, this thing just wants to fly wherever you point it.
Overall, I am really enjoying it. Apart from some slight imperfections in the paint on the bonnet, it seems really well built.
I do wish I could have kept the Caprice too though. I'm going to really miss that car.

There's something about our Aussie cars that other countries can't replicate
