what did you try this time to fix it did you fit lifters and run them in for 20 mins at 2000 rpm

Did run it for 20 mins going from 1500 to 3000. But currently the inspection plate is of cause the bottom of the gasket got pushed up. Just waiting for it to dry then do it again. The lifters i got were a Nason: RHT969

mines probly way off cos ur all talking about fkn lifters n crap
but mine was ticking heaps on and of the revs, i think i was using mobil oil.
i changed it to penrite hpr30 a few days ago and its quiet as a bell now....

Im using valvoline now, it had nulon in it before. Did the oil change after changing the head because coolent might of gotten in there. Unless theirs still coolent in the oil system i wont know till i can offord some more oil.
Its got a ryco oil filter tho.
If and when i can do the oil change, again, i may go thicker oil to stop this, i have a valvoline oil filter spare here.

The nulon wasnt too bad. The valvoline was 19.95 for 6L, so i couldnt pass that up lol.

Ryco filter wont do anything, the reason the other fella fixed his lifter noise on start up with a ryco filter is probably because the one way valve in the old filter wasnt working so all the oil in it ran back to the sump and the pump had to fill the filter each time it started letting the system run dry for a few moments until it fills.
