I am contemplating putting 20 x 10 in wheels with 35 offset on the rear of my SSV ute. . Has anyone had experience with this combo and if it will fit without rubbing on the guards. I would be using 285 or 295 profile tyres.
Currently I have 20 x 9 with 35 offset and they fit fine. One rim is damaged and has to be replaced that is the only reason I was considering changing to a 10 in rim

i have 10x20 on the back with 275/35 tyres, offset is 48 they fit no problem but would not want to poke out anymore than they do .

i still have standard fe2 springs but it could (and will one day) be lowered but going really low would probly need gard rolling and i wont be doing that as i need it to drive good not just look good . ( the roads around here are not perfect)

GHO5T thanks for that great link!

pretty sure 20x10 35P with 295s will NEED guard rolling unless on stock springs. Most guys try and use 50-60P (10" wide) wheels but yes it has been done before Id buy a 275 tyre to start with tho and check clearance BEFORE fitting a 295

Thanks everyone for your replies. That web link is great GHO5T. I plan to lower it by 10-20mm so it will be touch and go whether they rub or not. Will stick to the 275s to start with as per your suggestion Ducker85

The Falken FK452 275/35/20 tyres look quite stretched on my 10x20s , ok if you like that look but next time i would try some Nitto 275s as they have a larger case.
its odd that tyres can be the same spec yet be different size.

So bringing up an old thread but would like to get some info on peoples experiences. Looking at getting some 20's on my car on the weekend and talking with the shop today they have said 20x10 all round. I asked if scrubbing was an issue and they said they can stretch the tyre on the front. I have very little experience in the new tyre market so if anyone can help that would be good

Stretch is for ####wit JDM kiddies that don't give a stuff how their car actually drives. Go 8.5 front, gives you the option of a 245 or 255 and gives you more options if you want to lower it.

Can vary quite a lot. I've seen some 275's look very stretched on a 10", and I have Brigestone 275's on 10's on the rear of my VF and it doesn't have any stretch look at all.

yeah that was my next worry. i think at some stage i will want to lower it a little and the 10s on the front would make that a bit harder.

I have 20x9 +35 fronts and 20x10 +42 on the rears... I had to roll my guards on the rears due to scrubbing... The fronts are perfect though. I've got the 255 front and 275 rear continentals and they're not stretched at all. Looks good... Rolling the rear guards isn't a big deal. Very easy job for someone who knows what they're doing.. It's just the little lip underneath which needs rolling up.
