Hey guys I'm getting 245/35r19's on my new SSV's and now I'm worried that they may be too wide and may rub on the front struts. I got 245's because I need to have a load rating of 95H as according to my tyre placard. Any help or advice would be great. Thanks.

Load rating shouldn't be a problem "95" 690kg per tyre.
H speed rating you might get away with a lower rating as H is 210 kmh (i know you can in Vic), as it's illegal to do that speed on any australian road you can get away with a lower speed rating tyre within reason (eg M = 130 kmh but if you're known to exceed 130 then it's not safe to put that on your car)

The key is you can go to a higher rating but not lower, 96W is common for smaller than 245/35/19 tyres which is higher than 95H rating.

Well I want to kinda keep it legal. Haha. If I get 235 the load rating will be 91H. So unroadworthy. But my question is will it scrub?

ive got 245's on 18s on my car fronts no scrubbing rears are close to scrubbing but that's because of camber, jack up the front and turn the wheel full lock and check clearances?

I had 245 19" on my VS and I had an issue with them scrubbing on the rear. I had the rear guards rolled and the issue was no longer.

I have a VR with 245/35 19". It has Fe2 (lows) springs in it atm. The rear clear all round but in the front the side wall of the tyre just hit the strut by about 2mm. I just dinted the strut that 2mm so it would clear. Other then that they where good.

That's what I was worried about. How is it now that you have hit it? Using a hammer I assume?

Yeah with a hammer. They fit it fine now. 235 would be better but if you need the load rateing.... I think there are 10mm spacers you can get but I'm not sure of legal/illegal.
The off set of the rim mite make a diff as well.

225, 235, 215 come in that load rating or higher, in all honesty it just sounds like where ever you bought the tyres from is yanking your chain and just wanted more money from you for more expensive tyres or they're just lazy and wanted to offload old stock from the shelf rather than order some new ones in (what brand tyres have you purchased & what is their manufacture date?).

Also in my first post what i meant with "get away with lower speed rating tyres" i didn't mean it's dodgy, it is legal, just one of those technicalities.
You must have the same or better load rating though.

Ah fack sakes. Now I'm worried about it. He said that he was going to try and get them in by 5 o'clock Monday so they would be ready by today, I couldn't get them today though. Anyway they're Firestone's 245/35r19 $329 each.

Edit: just double checked the tyre placard says "The tyres fitted to this vehicle shall have a maximum load rating of not less than 630kg or a load index of 92 and a speed category not less than H
