255 wide tyres on a VN

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has managed to fit a 255/60/15 tyre on the back of a VN? I’ve been looking at maybe building a VL diff to allow the 255 to fit easier, but if possible would rather just leave the VN housing as is. Only going to have the interceptors on there, trying to keep the look as close to standard as possible. Need some wider tyres as I’m doing a LS3 conversion, traction might be a bit of an issue haha, cheers!

You can get a 255/60/15 under a 1st gen, so a shouldn't be much harder if at all. Depends though if you are relying on stock interceptor widths too. willtheyfit.com is a good place to start. For reference 7" interceptors are +43.

I have 255/50-16 mickey thompson drag radials on the back of my VR SS no worries.
But that is IRS too.

Edit, I think it's 255/55-16. 26" tall tyre.
