G'day fellas!

I've got a VXII transmission (2HFD 4L60E) and it has 2 mystery tabs (drilled out about 14mm maybe). There's one on each side of the box, one just near the filler-tube and the other symmetrical on the other side of the box. They appear to be totally useless, anyone know what they're for? Or are they just there for maybe another model/series and its just a universal outer shell for the gearbox?

Reason I ask is that the ones on mine have been removed (dodgey-stylez) and I need to know before I sell it to some poor sucker (like me)...

Cheers fellas!

yea, they are a multi model case, though i think those tabs were used when it was assembled at the factory, used to hold in place on the production line.

tabs also used for steadying the gearbox in a Jig if rebuilding

not a concern to the working functions of this automatic
