Hi guys, recently purchased a vs with a 304 in it and it came with a spare engine and a multitude of new and somewhat used parts that were at some stage supposed to be used for a 355 stroker build. The main issue is that the stroker crank that it came with is bent (.037") and some of the rod journals are very worse for wear. My question is what would be the best way to build this motor, whether I just put it together as a 304, get the crank offset ground to a 333 or aquire another 355 crank. Would also appreciate any tips or tricks to do with piecing together a 304 as I've never build one before!

Take the crank to a reputable engine shop and see what can be done. Cranks can be straightened within reason and as you mentioned the big ends ground undersize, at the end of the day you need to weight up the cost of repair Vs replacement.

Yeah I'll have to make a few calls (there are only 2 machine shops in Launceston) and see what they can do, what sort of ecu or tune would I need to run either set up? (Stroker or stock) can the delco be tuned that extensively?

Th delco is a great PCM because it has a lot of stuff aftermarket ecu's don't have, the problem is finding someone who can tune it.

Not really, head over to pcmhacking.net, they are the experts on tuning the venerable Delco ecu/pcm's.
