Threw a new Dizzy cap on VT 304 and started it and as soon as I started it, it went F#$%ing psycho. Just max revved straight up and I turned it off - What the hell went wrong???

I marked out the leads top right started at number one and worked it around the clock.

Nope. The car is remote start and I was in the engine bay. Throttle was in idle.

Leave a vac hose off??
hmm yeah actually the one that goes from the front of the inlet manifold to the fuel regulator on the back of the drivers side fuel rail. Surely that wouldn't make it scream its head off straight away and max out the revs immediately?

I've gone to Melbourne for the footy now so I can't check (dammit).

It needs lots of air to rev to redline. Throttle must’ve been open or you have a massive vac leak. Check the throttle cable where it comes through the firewall.

I have the covers off and can clearly see the throttle cable at idle. I can stand in front of the car and start it with a remote ;)

Screw that im here for the Storm!!

Seriously though I’ve got no idea how it over revved. As soon as it kicked over it went to a million RPM in a second before I Sh@t my undies.
I’ll have to look for vacuum tomorrow.
