304 rear main seal

FC HOLDEN with 5LT V8 (VT)
VT 304 rear main seal is dry as leaking and fkd. Shop gave me blue neoprene (Kelpro) and then I found a seal in my speed master gasket set. The blue one sits really weird and looks fkd when the crank went back in. Does it look right? Or cut away and use the black thinner one?

Wouldn't be using speedmaster/sss/atracing over felpro tbh.

I'd contact a performance shop like MCE or HPE or Zok's to see what brand is worth using these days as apparently they've changed a lot last few years quickly burn out.

My 355 suppposed to be rope seal yet has v6 rear seal lol

Knurl needs to be machined down though doesn’t it?

The more you read about them the more confusing it seems rope seals no longer have asbestos in them so don't last long & other brand rear seals not fitting or resembling oem item.

Never pulled my 355 apart to be certain & don't want to untill need to it's unknown quantity 40 thou over hq trimatic block built 10'ish years ago...

Smitty would have better answer with new engine build.

be built up and ground down.Mine was put together without it being done, after a
short time it leaked like a sieve. I have just had mine done properly.
