The pics show my predicament.
Because the ports are different the support arm from the block to the AC/ALT Bracket wants to go straight through my extractors.

Anyone else had this problem?
How'd you bypass it?

Looks like factory early head brackets on engine with later efi heads.

Vn-s brackets for those heads sit air compressor way down low where you have alternator which is moved over to passenger side head.

Most likely as exhaust port moved further forward...so basically you want later model brackets.

I agree with gtr. Just run the factory efi setup. Looks much neater. You’ll need new p/s hoses though - not the end of the world.

Alternatively make your own support bracket.

Would the weight of the Alternator and A/C be too much for the Head if I left that brace off?

If want to keep it make or modify brace.

Several reasons why whole shebang was changed when v8 changed to later heads etc.

Had early brackets etc on vn headed engine..clearances with everything made it a pain to work on plus annoying issues.
