So after 7 months we have a running vt mafless,355 with factory Delco ecu,has fair bit more in it also! Can't thank tuned by chop for making it happen using vs loom and ecu, the guy is a wizard!
The single 3inch exhaust is in need of an upgrade and gearbox is also on the cards as the next weakest link!
But sounds so good very happy with it so far!!
Well done!
I went back through this thread for a reminder of your specs,
What compression did you end up with to go with the 238/244 HR cam on 108?

10.1 from memory I'll have to find some paper work to confirm that but!

is what I had done, engine builder wanted more lift on the cam, but I had already bought it before I decided to go full rebuild so he made it work!

Public service announcement:
CRD caps (and possibly others) and the factory acorn pickup when used together, will require this corner trimmed for access to the main stud nut by a socket with torque wrench.
Note: since the rotating is already assembled, I used tin snips and did not file finish (for obvious reasons).

Didn't your new sump come with a new pickup?

Optional extra.

If you really look at the acorn, I quite like the design.

Plus I think it was @someguy360 sent me a video of a guy opening his brand new 'quality product' which was a matching pickup (to my sump) with internal rust straight out of the box.
So I decided against getting one.

My pickup was a high energy one which is of reasonably quality, I'm very glad I didn't buy one of the cheap chinese ones from certain victorian speed distributors *cough* after seeing the video of the rust.

For good measure though after seeing that I still ran my pickup through the ultrasonic cleaner for a few hours and then blasted it with compressed air and oil afterwards.

Camshaft all timed in at .020 lobe lift as per camtech spec sheet.
Strangely the centreline is 2° off, but the open and close is bang on.
This is on -2° keyway on crank gear.
I previously timed it all on zero keyway for intake and exhaust to find it all a couple of degrees off in the same direction. So knew once intake was correct, exhaust wasn't necessary to check again.

During some assembly today I noticed that the (factory) dipstick full mark is right around dead level with the top of the windage tray (aeroflow sump).
I'll have to check for similarities on a factory sump. Other manufacturers might vary their location slightly, but obviously couldn't move it far from the factory tube location.

Anyways, I just thought it an interesting visual.
