Hello I have a Supercharged V6 VY S Auto, Transmission was rebuilt 1 year ago but 2 weeks ago the transmission oil pump failed when the car was out of town so the transmission had no oil pressure and lost drive. While the car was waiting for the tow truck for about 2hours the engine was left idling.
I pulled the transmission out and could see the pump had failed so replaced the pump and put the transmission back in the car.
Took it for a test drive for 15 min and the transmission work perfectly.
I turned the car off and 20 min later went to go out in it and when I put it into drive it would slip and not engage if I give it a small amount of revs it clicks into gear and feels normal unless you accelerate sort of hard about 1/2 throttle. dose the same in reverse, checked the oil was a bit overfull but clean.

Could this be a torque converter issue or something else any suggestions before I pull it out again? Cheers

Just a suggestion as not a auto eggspert, that issue sounds like the stalling up of the converter which from memory is 1800 rpm.
The other issues could be the clutches damage and/or temp/pressure issue, might be time to take back to trans place who built it and check it over for peace of mind its good to go.

ok, since you built it sounds like you know what you have to do next, good luck, might pay to take it to a shop for check faults and then you can do the repairs yourself since your handy with the tools.
