Just wondering what's needed to run a 4l65e behind the 355 in my vt senator. Box is a standard 4l60e with high stall ATM. Would it just be a case of new torque converter to match box?
Is the output spline count the same and I can still use my original driveshaft?

This Article may help you a little:
How to Convert a GM 4L60E Transmission to a 4L65E - Car Craft Magazine

It also leads me to believe that since your original case is re-used, no tail shaft swap is required
Cheers deuce. Good read but was wondering more so on the converter and flex plate side of things. I know the converter and input shaft to the trans are aet up differently between 304 and ls1 trans. But whether a ls1 torque converter will bolt to a 304 flex plate gets me? And I'm sure the bell housing bolt holes don't line up at the top?

I think the big issue you will run into is the ECU side of things.

It's more so the mechanical side of things I'm worried about. I can tune ecu myself that's not a prob. Seems the 4l60 for the vt is so hard to come by looks easier to go ls 4l60.
