Gday mate,I havent got a 5.0 litre here to compare with the pics, or to see what connector it has,and Ive never taken much notice of the dizzy plug to tell you the truth, but to me, that looks like it could plug in there, even though they are different shapes around the outsides, but its too hard to tell just from the pics. The contacts inside the connector look the same, have you actually tried to plug it into there to see if it will go in.I would have thought that someone on here thats got a 5 litre would be able to help you out and answer this straight away.
EDIT: I Didnt even see the above post by Asmodai78,but there you go.Trust them to have different plugs, thats always the way.The car makers never make it easy for us.

yer i have tried man and they are completely different, the blue plug is in a oval shape where as the black plug on the loom is in a rectangle shape with like tab things for it to slide into........ i think i might just go around to a few wreckers and ask if they have a VN 5 litre engine loom as i have found out that my dizzy on the engine is from a VN and my loom is from my car which is a VR S2........... iv found out that VN-VP were diff to VR-VS and VT 5 litres where diff yet again......... y couldnt thay just keep it 1 plug lol drives me crazy.

wouldnt it be easier to replace the dizzy instead of the engine loom?

just inputting for anyone in the future... its not a vt dizzy they have 4 pins.
its a vn-vp series1 after vp series 2 the plug was changed.. the wires are all in the same place and for a temp fix you cant just cut up the plug to fit... I tried it..
youll have to slide the tabs out of the plug and tape them up then put the 3 tabs on individually.
as for the plug youll have to find one and rewire it on.. much easier than replacing dizzy..

my s2 vq caprice uses the VR VS 3pin black squarer plug compared to the blue oval 3pin

why not remove the pins from the harness plug and change it to suit the dizzy instead of modding the dizzy?
