im just wondering, what are peoples opinions on 5 litre SS's? ive considered maybe buying a VN SS, not for driving, just to leave in the garage and do it up a bit. Would the VN be a good choice, or should I look at a VR or VS maybe?

Go the VN SS... VN, VP, VR and VS SS Commodores are all 165kw (Except VS S2 SS which is 168kw). But the VN has a power to weight advantage over the VR VS Commodores.

How come my VS 5 ltr ute came with the 185kw motor then?

Said HSV enhanced!

Ive always though a nice VN SS, with a 383 stroker kit, some twin throttle bodies and a manual trans would be a sweet NA ride, and the VN SS kits are subtle and classy

Atlas grey VN SS - in love at first sight. Almost affordable now. Yep I'd have one in the shed any day. Just need to talk some one into parking one there!

Learn how to read buddy... Taken from THAT site.
The Series II VS’s V8 engine power was 168 kW.

Those engines are referring to the Limited Edition models. Why else do you think it said HSV Enhanced...

Series 1 VS SS is 165kw, Series 2 VS SS is 168kw... :bop:

HSV uses the 185kw engine, the Holden one is 165, and series II VS 168kw.
