Hey guys I picked up a 5L with noisey top end. put gauge on it and have zero oil pressure. Pump is new. I blew compressed air through block back down pick up tube and there does not appear to be obstruction. I then packed pump gear cavity full of vaso and refit with no success. Previous owner claims to have replace lifters at 3am in the morning. There are air and water leaks in intake. any takers as to where I should go from here? it's got me stuffed. its not really misfiring like youd expect with valve, lifter or pushrods issues. tia

I meant in the block. I can't remeber how it attaches to the shaft but possible it's not attached properly.

It's driven off the cam. Just checked and yea like I thought the drive shaft has a pin for the gear it's possible the pin is missing.

so chuck a screw driver up there and see if it is spinning loose or has been pushed up or down? it seemed to seat into the pump no worries

Cracked pickup tube or missing/damaged gasket can cause them to suck air. You’ll never get oil pressure if that’s the case.

Is the oil light on?
