6.5" in 6" mounts

Surely plenty of people have put 6.5" speakers in their car, but how easy/hard is it, or does it depend on the depth of the speaker also?

Speakers I will be fitting are Alpine SPR-175a splits

6.5" speakers are generally the exact same size as a 6" speaker.

Some companies include the speaker cover or surround in their measurements while others do not. Thats the difference between a 6" and a 6.5" speaker.

Always check the mounting depth also.

there r usually extra holes drilled out in 6.5's 2 fit the old 6" holes well thats how it was wen i installed my 6.5's n the 6" door mounts but if ya dont im sure it wouldnt b hard 2 drill new holes 2 make em fit
