hey guys just installed new 69mm throttle body from mace engineering, but few things are worrying me, 1st: changing of gears, from 1st to 2nd its revs very high until it changes not sure how high as i dont have rpms, 2nd: if i accelerate then take foot off and accelerate again quickly it sort of has a big suck of air n sounds like the car dies for a split second not sure why, last but not least when i give it the boot it doesnt drop back a gear and drop nutz it just slowly accelerates up, even if stopped at lights and give it the boot not as powerful. will be ringing mace very soon just seeings if any of you guys know of anything i can try

    Hi
I had similar issues with my trans and it ended up being the TPS/IAC (though mine is a stock throttle body).....I cleaned the IAC and replaced the TPS and its like new again..
try disconnecting the battery for a few min's reconnect and start the car let in run for 5 sec and switch off, then restart this should reset the IAC then just let it idle for a while till the revs drop to normal...
give it a drive then check for error codes.....

Did you put the black plastic cover on the end of the throttle butterfly shaft before fitting the TPS?

Did you make sure you fitted the vac lines back up??

Auto shift points are based on TPS and RPM from what I understand.

Putting a bigger TB on the car would mean that the auto is no longer correctly calibrated to the TPS signal as more is getting through. This could be stuffing around with the shifting.

The sucking you are experiencing is also pointing to a TPS issue.

Though first and foremost, check for the little black thing:
BORED OUT AND POLISHED THROTTLE BODY VS-VY - Mace Engineering Group

Check out page 11 of that PDF.

There is also mention of a restrictor thingy? no idea, but could be related.

As jester posted, its now getting more air than it used to at any given throttle position. The ecu is still programmed to shift at thw same throttle position, but now that position ingests more air, the changes will be later. U need to get a tune to suit.

If U search, U will find more threads on this issue.

Does it still suck when you rev it? Mine has been doing the 'sucking' thing since I installed as well, but I've got the plastic sleeve on.
Just replaced my TPS as well
