hi guys...(sorry if i posted this in the wrong place i just didnt know where to put it) ive sold my car speakers with an amp and capacitor to a guy in adelaide on here.. my missus is flying down at the end of the week so i figured no harm in just sending them down with her. than just checked the banned list for items on a plane it states Magnets (somee large loudspeakers and other laboratory equipment) are not allowed i was just wondering if anyone has come across this and will i be able to take any of this onto the plane..

if it helps these are the product codes..

6x9s: F19-F2

Capacitor: ACP2000

Amp: SPA2000m.

any help would be nice?

Cheers, Mick.

The Cap and Amp will be no problems. Try calling the Qantas head office on (02) 9691 3636 if speakers are allowed.

Magnets can stuff up the systems in an aircraft but something like your 6x9's I don't think would pose a problem in your check in bags

I would say check-in luggage would be OK. But if Qantas can't give you a straight answer, than try ringing another airline, they all have basically the same rules.

I wouldnt put them in your checked in bags - they will come out in pieces unless you have a hard shelled suitcase or don't ask them to put a fragile tag on it.

I have never had any problems with Qantas when I ring them for enquiries.

I reckon you'll be fine now that i think of it, Electronics is freighted all around the world every day. If you want to be sure call CASA.
