so I just read the tax invoice my mechanic gave me after servicing the car and it says he put 7 1/2 litres of oil into the engine bay should I take it back. Ik the limit is 6.7l for the Sidi 3.6L.

If you feel the need to, go ahead. At the end of the day, it’s probably $10 adjustment?

Would it damage anything by having a bit of extra oil in there if not, then I have no reason to go back.

the mechanic probably had to buy 7&1/2 litres if you need a top up before the next service is when you go see the mechanic and he can put it in now as he didn't give you the left over, ill bet the level is spot on and its not over full.

So you didn't even make the effort to check the oil level? Relaying on the answers from the forum?

No because it was handed in for a service so I’d expect the mechanic would have checked and topped to the correct level accordingly. I only check it once a month via engineering mode.

Since when does engineering mode display oil level?
Check the dipstick to see if it's over full.
Mechanic would probably say he flushed the old oil out with half a litre of fresh oil.

That shows age of oil (in %) as in if you flog your car your oil % will go down faster so zero % change oil.
Would have to get oil checked and see if oil is no good.
I just go by Ks oil change 7500klm.
Tech I know works in dealership they put in 7.1L for 2012 VE2 Sidi 3.6L.

Suggest O/P pops bonnet weekly.
He/she it's just so easy and you never know what you may learn.
You will not even get your precious hands and fingers dirty.
It is a nice idea while bonnet is up to wipe things over with a cloth to take the dust off.
