runnin them on a paralelle circuit to get round a 4 ohm load,
thinkin bout it more today while i was at work.. bandpass may not be practical due to the space availible to me, yeah anywas still toyin with ideas till i get the phreddy mods then ill really worry about it when i get everythin down to pieces,
yeah with figures presented id have to present a 6th order bandpass box with these woofers due to their construction...
why not just run them at 8ohm? bandpass..... mmmmm..... big and boomy, i know you know, but listen to one before you decide on a bandpass box.

what 8s were they?? 1008's are the only 8 they make arent they? 145s are VERY impressive for 2 $300 woofers

yeh, although DD woofers are known to take far more than their quoted power handling. As in twice as much sometimes

i understand where you are comming from, but the poin t remains there will have been compromises to the DQ of the driver in order to get such a high spl.
i am not by any means saying they are ****, far from that, just that they are designed for spl.

8 inch subs

My brother has two Fusion 8's in his HILUX dual cab - behind the rear seat.
Don't know about the specs but the box is made of MDF and is about 1 - 2 inches wide at the top.
He runs a Alpine M605 into them (2 ohms) and they absolutely kick ARSE (you can hear him coming).
Heaps of bottom end and really punchy - less reaction time in the subs.

I have also seen in Street Commodore Mag some time ago that they had an article on fitting a 10inch behind the drivers' seat by taking out some panels down there and fitting a custom box (as techhead suggested above)

8 inch subs have there place....

(unfortunatley not in my car - I have two 10's in a custom vented box with two Alpine V12's kicking them)

Best of luck with this one - will come down to how much work you want to do to get the end result.

well
i can say for a fact that they do make a 8 in type X alpine sub
but of how much it will cost i doubt you would wanna get two of them

my friend has a set of 4 inch type x splits
$400 for them
kinda scary
i mean if they can make speakers that small sound that good then like the other brands have a lot of catching up to do.
maybe its cost of materials to make the speaker is just too great
umm i checked the alpine catalogue and there is no 8" type x subs
