Also sab, do the HID's turn off over bumps? When I went out with a 79 cruizer with HID's installed they would turn off over bumps and would have to be reset before they would turn on again.. I would say very annoying at night while 4 wheeling.

Never had an issue with mine.

Nice rig. HID's in non projector lights in a 4wd. People must love you.

Bought a new UHF for it today, as the old one was knackered. Also got a new 6dB elevated feed aerial for it. Was in the middle of fitting it and it started to rain. So will have to finish that job off tomorrow.

Bit of a size difference in the units aswell.

Old one was just old technology. New one is 5w and 80 Channels. Havent got it installed yet, only have the aerial run done sofar.

Spent a bit of time yesterday installing the UHF in the Cruiser, was pretty straightforward as i used the power that was already there from the old unit, snipped off the connector and soldered it all up.

Installed Hama's radio in his roof console. Took a bit more doing, but it came out pretty good in the end. Lucky bastard got two bolts to hold his radio in, i got jibbed with only one. Need to go back to Oricom and punch the spud who made mine.
