I was wondering if someone could point out a few things for me in response to the following model Commodores: 95/96/97 - VS Executive 95/96/97 - VS Acclaim 95/96/97 - VS Berlina I am after one of these particular cars and have found a 1996 Berlina and was wondering whether someone would be able to tell whether it is series 1 or 2 by its year and what benefits/flaws it may have against the other models posted above. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am soon to be buying my first car and want to make sure what I am getting will be the highest possible quality I can get. Thank you in advance
Hey mate, ive got a 97 VS series 2 berlina kitted out with senator body kit, lowered etc etc, it has all the climate control, cruise and so in... it is for sale if ur interested... Josh
Series 2 Dates I believe that the Series 2 dates for compliance plates from June 1996. There may still be June 1996 Series 1's, but JUly onwards will be all Series 2.
if your looking for a car, mine is for sale aswell mate.. Its a "97" VS Series 2 S-Pack Got all the extra's & looks awsome... let us know if your interested...
wait for a stock VS series 1 comes up, mod it yourself so you know exactly what is in the car....july 1996 onwards are all series 2, most series 2 run IRS, I dont like the IRS as it makes line lockers and burnouts hard the series 1 had live axle which i beleive to be a little more friendly....def go the VS not VR, VR had minor teething problems that were fixed on VS.....
Does the series 2 with IRS have any effect on installing exhaust/extractors or lowering the suspension, i.e. make it easier/difficult or less/more expensive? Thanks for the help again
Go for the Berlina If you can afford it, why wouldn't you go for the Berlina? I've had a VR Exec, VS Acclaim, VS2 Acclaim and VS2 Berlina. The Berlina has a nicer dash (with the extra trip computer functions etc.), more supportive front seats, chrome highlights around the body, and power everything. I also think if you're deciding not to go for the IRS because you want to do burnouts, then you're crazy! And yes, funnily enough, my VSII V8 Berlina is for sale but I am not advertising it (yet) as I'm still not sure that I actually can part with it! BUT, everything is always for sale at the right price...!
Yep, mine just adverted on here and a wake site... i slaped a sticker on the back the other day but is really to small to see if ny1 is interested. I dont think i can part with it but if i get what i want for it i will be happy to upgrade.
What is the actual difference of a Series 1 VS Berlina compared to the Series 2? Anything significant?
go the vs commodore executive but definitly go an auto because i have a manual and some thing always seems to wrong with it + a good v6 vs will give any v8 a good race
hmm i dont know what sort of v8s your talking about... the v6 just doesnt have the balls to challenge a v8. unless its getting fed a bit more air by a blower.
