The part will fit but it might not be your problem.

I had the exact problem with my car and I just had to adjust the bonnet hinges so that there was enough pressure on the release spring for it to work. If that makes any sense lol.

Changing the bonnet release cable is not the easiest of jobs and sometimes not necessary - mine was the same as yours needing someone to press on the bonnet etc - I read somewhere that adjusting the lock bolt - (that's the single bolt with a coil spring that goes into the bonnet lock) - can fix this problem which it did for me. The lock bolt is adjusted so there is 52mm between the bolt shoulder to the bonnet...so check this first before replacing the cable.

You may need to replace the spring that latches onto the striker pin when you shut the bonnet (this spring is attatched to the end of your bonnet release, so you will know what it is).

I was having the exact same problem. A new one cost me $5 from a wrecker.
