VS Statesman
As a new member I would like to say hello to all, and say thankyou for all the information that has been posted here. By using the info here I was able to get the most out of my VR untill it was written off a couple of months ago. I now have a 95 statesman with the following problem. I have searched but have had no luck with a answer, hopefully someone may have had a similar fault.

It started a few weeks ago with the passenger side headlight going off, when I moved the bulb to replace it the it worked, it did it a couple of times over the next week. I then removed and checked all the conections, fuses, relays etc I could. Now the light has stayed on, but when you remove the fuse for a headlight, the headlight dims and the high beam lights (centre 2) glow dimly. Both sides behave the same.

sounds like the plug might be loose or dirty, and if it the high beam globe, might not be eathing properly.

the lights dimming and the high beams coming on dim isnt a problem, its just the way the system is setup.

Also check the high and low beam relays, particularly the earths at the relay as this is where the bulbs earth.
