So. i need to replace my fuel pump, right ? I goes to the store, pay $95 for the part and come home to install it. Only to find my 100ltr LPG Tank is situated DIRECTLY OVER THE ACCESS PANEL.. >.<.....! I have a question for anyone who knows anything about gas. I have run the tank to empty, and have the idea that i could remove/disconect the tank with the aid of a licenced, semi-retired mechanic, in order to replace the pump. Before we go through with this however. Is there ANY other way to access the fuel pump other then removing 3/4 of the fudging gas system. If its a task thats too 'involved', i am happy for you to sudgest taking it to a Workshop, but want to avoid the 100's of dollors in labor. ~A
Hi two-bit. I would love to mate. But the tank appears to be enclosed in some sort of outer casing under the ute.
Pics??? Cant you get to the bolts holding the pump in?? maybe if you can unbolt the gas tank but not disconnect anything you might be able to move it enough to get to the fuel pump or something..
Hey. The only way in A ute is to take the tank out. I have tried before with no luck. There is an access panel under your driver seatthat gets to the sender on the tank. Have a look in there to see what you have to take off. Although I think you would have to be tripple jointed to get it out of there.
ahh whoopsy strange ur tank is in the tray o.0 ill check the manual but i think you have to go from the top edit: bad news, gotta pull the tank out to get to the pump.
only way you can get into the Ute fuel tank is through the hatch in the back. so its pretty safe to say the other part has to come out. maybe it might mean relocating the LPG tank for the future? =P which a few people have put them where the spare wheel goes. or could you get one that fits next to the petrol tank?
