98' VT Calais s1 - 195i
hi all,

im chasin a bit of info about the above car, i've just got a 98 vt calais with the hsv enhanced v8 (195kw 430nm), what i really want to know is how reliable they are, how hard they go 0-100 and q/mile time.

Reliability is no issue, the 304 is a solid motor. As for how hard they go, i'd say they would be lucky to crack a 15 sec 1/4. If you wan it for performance then i suggest spending a little more money and buying an LS1 calais, give it a tune keep stock exhaust should give you about 205 rwkw.

Blown VT Calais 355 + SC VY V6
We've got one, not hsv enhanced though. Haven't had any major mechanical probs yet. Ran a 15.3 qtr, obviously we expect a better run next time with the blower on.

My VT 5.0 179kw auto ran 15.8 stock and 15 flat with full exhaust.

Some of the VTs had oval shaped bores and chewed oil but mine was ok.
