Hi All,

I hope someone can help with this ?

I have a 98 VT Berlina that decides to stall at lights for no apparent reason. I have had it at the holden workshop but it won't do it for them (go figure) it only does it now and then but always seems to happen when i'm in heavy traffic (FUN) NOT ! it takes ages to get started again but does start eventually. I can only think of maybe the crank angle sensor but they holden guys think not ????
Has enyone had this happen and have any idea what to do ???

Thanks

Dave

Could be anything but start with the basics like the fuel filter.

It's the Crank Angle Sensor.

I had the exact same problem in my VT.

$200 at your local mechanic for a new one, don't go to Holden, they'll rort ya!

i had a similar problem in another V6 too, the auto-sparky had it on the dyno for an hour and a half and couldnt make it fault, but he narrowed down to three things and went with the crank angle sensor first...it paid off

Thanks !

Thanks guys, I thought it might have been the crank angle sensor so I will try that first. I appreciate the advise it's good to get ideas and know everyone here loves holdens as much as I do.

If it,s not crank angle sensor,Or coil pack module,Or even the camshaft sensor, near the water pump??
After replacing all of these the car would still STOP!!! only when the weather was too hot.TURNED OUT IT WAS THE F!! FUEL PUMP DYING WHEN HOT. ON COOLER DAYS NO PROBLEMS????????
