Here is a list (best I can Supply at this time) of the various compressors on Commodores and what they fit. If you find an error please let me know so I can modify this.
VB some - Harrison A6 Type (same style as HQ-HZ) Long and black.
VB others - Sanden SD508 model 7609
VC-H - Sanden SD508 model 7609
VK - Sanden TR model 2000
VL - Sanden TR model 9792
VN-R 6cyl - Sanden TR model 2214/3202
VN-S V8 - Sanden TR model 2215/3203
VS 6cyl - Sanden TR model 3207
VT-X 6 cyl - Harrison R5
VT 5.0V8 - Harrison R5
VT-X 5.7V8- Harrison R5
Still looking for models on VT-X but the two V8's are different to the V6 and to each other as well, will post later on.
Their is no straight new replacement for the VK and VL but you can get a mount kit to change to a Sanden model 3001. The 3001 also come off of NJ Diesel Pajeros.
Any of the SD508 can be changed to an SD5H14 or SD7H15 but remember they are O'ring fittings and not flare and the new versions don't have the R12 ports on them, so hoses will have to be modified.
As you can see the later Commodores are, to some extent, interchangable but be carefull when you buy second-hand.
Will post pictures when I get a camera up and running.
Happy hunting Regards Guy
