Often read of members having concerns with the cost of replacement of the evap solenoid valve feeds air from the canister to the right angle connector at the left front just behind the throttle body on the Alloytec. You can carefully remove the rubber angle, note that with age it is very poor quality and corrodes over the years. Holden charge about $70 - $80 for the complete line to the manifold intake. It is not possible to just buy the elbow. MY FIX: go to an automotive wrecker and buy some spark plug insulators. You know they used to be on the older cars with exposed spark plugs and connecting cables to a Distributor. They might cost you $2.00 - $5.00 each a LOT cheaper than HOLDEN can supply for. They fit the intake and hose perfectly. To extend their life, get some 'Magic Silicon Tape' (self amalgamating) and wrap around the rubber. Helps it stop perishing/cracking.
Done this at work a few times to avoid having to charge the customer works great . Never thought to actually mention it to people one of those fixes found scrambling for an alternative round the shop so ten points gryffyndor for letting every one else in on it!
