Moisture sure does kill arc rods which is a pain for when you only weld once in a blue moon but have an open packet of rods in the garage cupboard.
Yep, LOL that's where my rods are and we are 700 metres from the beach so fun when I come to do a bit of welding which is not too often these days.

We used to drill a hole through the back of an old buggered fridge or freezer with a good door seal and wire in a 100 watt bulb.
