went through the process twice
lh rear no noise, lh front no noise
rh rear and front usual shuddery noise when bleeding

Did you change/replace any other brake component that let's air into the system? Because pad change does not require "abs" bleed.
Shuddering due to system trying to prevent a wheel lock by opening closing valves in the control unit.

routine service. just perform abs bleed to get rid of old fluid, no air was allowed in
on other cars you hear the abs cycling on all wheels, this is the first time i have bled this car
and have never had a quiet abs bleed before

Does the ABS work properly when you road test it?

ABS actuates when there is a slip observed at the wheels irrespective of the brake application.
When you were installing new pads, did you make sure all 4 caliper pistons operating (moving in out) properly?

my problem was using tech 2 to perform an abs bleed
could not hear the pistons actuating on lhs or feel pulses in pedal
under normal braking, and severe braking, to activate abs, all feels fine
all brake calipers are working fine
just wondering if tech 2 did not initialise bleed on lhs or if abs pistons on lhs are super quiet

Caliper pistons don't actuate, when the ABS system is in operation you will feel a pulsing in the brake pedal; this comes from the rapid opening and closing of the valves. Some ABS systems can cycle up to 15 times per second.
