Wanting to add an external siren to alarm output on VF2.
Does anyone know were the alarm module is or were the output wire triggers the horn.
In my VX I could just go off the separate alarm horn but from what I have read the alarm
uses the one horn for driving and alarm.

There is only one single tone horn in VF2’s.

This one horn can be used as a warning or for general road abuse by the driver. This one horn can also repeatedly chirp when something is wrong with door locking, etc. In both cases it’s the BCM that commands the horn to do its thing.

I believe the horn buttons on the steering wheel feed a signal to the BCM which commands the horn to do it’s thing when the buttons are pressed. I’d think the lock, immobiliser and alarm function is handled by another box which feeds a different signal (than the steering horn buttons) to the BCM.

Maybe such wiring info is within the workshop manuals available to Holden dealers and they may be nice enough to print out the relevant pages for you. But don’t be surprised if they say no as security systems are involved and generally they don’t like to tell their secrets.

There is also a link to VF workshop manual in a thread post somewhere on the JC forum so search for it as it may give you some hints. Just note it’s not a full on manual with all the bits.

Oh, and appart from dual tone horns, I’d suspect/speculate VF1’s and VF2’s are the same w.r.t. the rest of the system.

Many thanks Skylarking, I thought it would be the case but its worth investigating.
I wanted to integrate a siren with shock sensor(in parallel with bonnet) and then to gsm module.
I will keep looking I know there a can bus systems but I don't know anyone who has one to ask.

Here is the post that links to the workshop manual. Download it and have a read as it’s better than nothing. It may give some hints despite not showing any specific sections for the security related parts.

Sadly the issue with all modern cars is that they are much more difficult to do any electrical mods on them. They are no longer the simple old style analog switched 12 volts running through wires. Our cars are full of proprietary computers and their programs and data protocols on the wires that they communicate on. This raises the level of knowledge and documentation one needs to do any successful well integrated mods. Unfortunately the manufacturers don’t like sharing information so making it even more difficult.

Maybe a vehicle alarm specialist has the info you need (some of which also don’t like sharing their knowledge).

Good luck with it...
