Hey guys. I removed the plastic panels on the outside of my VZ. I Can not remove the adhesive though!
I have looked around on the internet and tried everything I could find and nothing worked. I got some adhesive remover and still nothing. Has anyone got any idea how to get it off?
    Cheers.

I tried terps, WD-40, cooking oil, vinegar and then the adhesive removal. A car detailer just looked at it and wont try it because he thinks if he tries it will remove the paint as well.

depends how thick the adhesive is, if its thick use a razor blade to thin it down, the purchase a caramel wheel, and take ur time so U don't burn ur paint

Its a sky blue and I used goof off. Ill take some photos now though.

I used a blade to try and shave some of it off and scratched my car a number of times.

use a hosting site like photobucket and link them.

domestic adhesive removers aren't very strong. It's likely you'll need something stronger.

I bought a black fender for my Crewman, and it had that plastic prick of a plastic strip down the side of it. I used fishing line and kerosene when I debadged the Chev badges the previous owner put on it, and tried for this too.
Nope. I ended up having the snap off all the plastic and used a razor blade to scrape off the rest.
I did however, peel some paint off with it. Which was annoying.

Mine was stuck on with black sicaflex. Very tough stuff.
I even went and bought some special silicone remove, and it didn't work...

By the way, your photos don't work. =S

That's the same as what mine is stuck down with. I asked Holden what they used and it's all the same stuff, I was told to use a caramel or vanilla wheel...
I only had to do one guard. I couldn't do the whole car! Good luck!

that's not just glue dude, that's rubber ! The only things i can suggest to get that off are Kerosene, Xylene ( ie paint thinners ) , and or a heat gun to melt the glue.
The Xylene and heat gun could strip / melt / smudge the paint and start a fire, so don't mix heat and solvents. Nothing less strong is going to get it off. I'm surprides the acetone didn't work.
    Good Luck !!!!!
