adjusting panhard rod?

hi, ive done a search and couldnt find the answer i need, im lowering rear of my car just wondering to adjust panhard rod do i set the length off my orginal rod and simply bolt back on?? afterwards i know i measure the tyres from the gaurds either side and make sure equal. any advice from someone who has done this would be great! thanks.

I put mine on at stock length, then once everthing was done drove out the front to some flat even ground, and adjusted it there - so that the gap was the same on each side between wheel and guard. Then I got a wheel alignment, and the guy said it was perfect. :)

roughly how far across does it need to be adjusted? looks like its about 10mm from what i can see,is this normal?
