hey all

ive had a hunt through and couldnt notice anything to solve what im looking at, so ill ask the questions

in my VYII calais im looking to basically improve the sound quality by amping up and speaker replacement.

at the current moment i have 2x 12" JL w3v2 (which im not looking to install right now but rather sell them, great subs by the way  )

1 jaycar 4x130wrms amp which im looking to use to power this system

im planing to replace the front splits with rockford fosgate 6.5 inch punch splits - model P162S (and will be amped of course)

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=3&series_id=33&family_id=28&item_id=91963&locale=en_US

rear doors to rockford fosgate punch 6" coax - model P163C (and will run off the deck unless i pick up another amp)

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=3&series_id=33&family_id=14&item_id=101671&locale=en_US

now the hard part is to either replace the 6 sub things in the parcel sheft with 2 of JL 6" w0 speciality subs (defently amped)

http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs.php?series_id=23

or stick in rockford fosgate punch 6x9s - Model P1694C

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=3&series_id=33&family_id=14&item_id=101681&locale=en_US

or go out the bit extra for the rockford fosgate power 6x9s - model T1692C

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=3&series_id=34&family_id=15&item_id=91999&locale=en_US

im open to other suggestions but oboviously i like rockford, jl audio and sh!t like that, if i can get a good enough deal on mb quarts spilts i may go for those

after my bodgy installation of my last system :whistling ill be looking for someone else to install it if anyone knows of someone good in the western sydney area pm me.

cheers all and thanks in advance for any advice

ok then......
how about you just have the speakers in the doors and subs in the boot!...
easy.
now, really 6x9's dont cut it, plan and simple. if you can afford subs and dont mind loosing some boot then get subs.
now get the quarts over the rockfords. the rockford splits will not even compare to a set of the premuim/refrence quarts.
also run the speakers off one amp and the subs off a seperate amp. it will maximise efficency and just be a better overall system.

ive got the subs, but right now i cant afford to loose the boot space, thats why i was asking weither the 6" subs are worth spending the money on, ive ditched the 6x9s cause you confirmed what i thought

in a nut shell, 6 inch drivers will not produce bass anywhere near a 12inch driver.
they will put out a goot thump but no real bone skaking bass or anything. better to spend your money on, say some 10-12 inch free air subs and mount those facing in to the car directly behind the rear seats. you will loose not much boot but will have some bass.
