mate your comparing 2 completely different engines....not a wise suggestion!

Id definitely want my CR in the 9's before I force extra air down its throat...unless you run E85

Yes they are different however with that compression ratio he can run boost not massive amounts and with a good tune will be safe that's obviously making sure cam is compatible ect ect

I was just stating the ratio is ok for lowish boost

It's not as straight forward as saying it's fine with that boost because a VE does, heads are different material, different chamber design, cam specs are different, etc.

who wants to run lowish boost??.....probably no one!
If your going to boost it do it properly and run something that can take 15psi plus....and get that CR down as low as possible otherwise itll be a nightmare of all things to come.

As airstrike and myself said its completely different regardless of comp ratio figures
Basically comparing apples to oranges....

Don't take it personally, no offence mate!

Could use a mains stud girdle instead of 4 bolt mains

Looked at the girdles, are they worth it for this application? I know 4 bolt would be the way to go and as u may have guessed Ive spent a few $$$$ so far so I don't want to take the "easy" option if u know what I mean

Not really!
You could be one of those people who want a 600hp street daily car that will hardly see over 6000rpm and will be quite happy to do so. OR you could be someone who wants a highly strung drag/track car.
Its all about the application its being used for.
Changing from one to another is the most expensive way to go about it.
If its the later then engine out strip the block, 4 bolt main conversion with some $$$ oiling mods + cam etc to keep it all together.

6 grand transbrake launches from the local Traffic Lights. lol

Ive got a 480hp 355 streeter and I find it hard to find roads where I can open it right up with out breaking traction.
Its all well and good having a killer engine like we all want to have....ideally id love a 6/71 on mine but where could I drive it.

you should start a build thread on this beast mate...id love to see pics and progress!!
