Interested in peoples thoughts on Travis Cloke? What's he worth and who should look at him.

I see him as a $5-600k player but it seems his market value is $1-1.2M for teams looking to poach him, and probably $700k to stay at Collingwood. So far Melbourne, Freo and Bulldogs have looked at him.

Melbourne: They have Mitch clarke for $700k. To tie up $2M in two forwards would leave them with serious deficiencies elsewhere for a long time

Freo: If I was a big forward the last coach I would want to play under is Ross Lyon. No way will he go there

Bulldogs: This one makes a bit of sense. They MUST have plenty of room under the cap (look at their list!) and a couple promising looking young Key position types who would benefit playing with an experienced player like Cloke. They haven't had a decent big forward since Chris Grant left aside from Barry Hall pumping up his super for a few games.

I think he'll stay with the Pies but the Bulldogs look a good fit if he decides to chase the cash

Totally agree, I think he's over valued at over a million dollars a year but hey, I guess there aren't that many forwards that are that big and can mark the ball that well.

I have an inkling he'll go to Melbourne, apparantly they're cashed up (as they should be) and are ready to pounce. As you said, he'd have to be nuts or be offered the most money to go to Freo, Ross Lyon = defensive game plan that would totally suck if you were a forward playing under it.

That leaves the bulldogs... I guess they would have the cash. Perhaps he might see more promise there than at Melbourne?

Either way, he could end up getting loads of extra cash for playing in a different jumper. I know I'd go where the dollars are, you only play footy for a short time of your life.

There would be no promise in going to melbourne, their team is in the nicest way possible....lowly and pathetic...they have a good 3-5 years of building before they play finals footy with an actual chance of making it passed the first round...they may squeeze in at 7-8 in the next couple of years but they won't last long, I think he would be foolish to move away from either as collingwood is still a strong team....we will find out what kind of a bloke he is...if he wants success or if he wants cash.

I always think of it this way...
If you got offered a job that paid twice as much tomorrow, but it was interstate at a different company, would you take it?

I moved interstate from having a job in melb to have no work in cairns, so yeah...I relocate at the drop of a hat haha, but if he went to the bulldogs or to melbourne he wouldn't be moving interstate..he wouldn't even need to move suburb....except to maybe avoid being beaten to death by scummy collingwood supporters.

Carlton v Adelaide should be good.

Freo are $4.80 against the Hawks, obviously someone is more confident in us then I am haha

Yeah we seem to keep getting ridiculous odds in our favour...freo are pretty low on the ladder though, we should pump them....we were 14 bucks against melbourne last week haha.

Yes carlton adelaide would be a good one...quite a few interesting games to keep an eye on this weekend.

Anyone here give Port a chance at home against North? Its an interesting one and if Port actually come out and play like they are capable of, they should win..

I'm going to the dreamtime match so that's my round highlight. I don't think my mighty tigers will win but it should be a good game. Both teams play a high intensity entertaining brand of footy

They are a massive chance. Shultz and wingard are back in and Hamish Macintosh is out. The Roos were embarrassing last week so they'll be fired up, but Port are definitely a chance

Yup, interstate teams are always a chance at home no matter how woefully they are playing...they will always perform better at home.

Could only hear the game tonight (at work unfortunately) but sounded like a cracker! Are Geelong finished? They might struggle to make the eight if they keep going like they are...

My prediction of the dees crumbling by 88 was close, they got smashed by 101. Also, what a last 10 minutes by the power! I was tossing up whether to go to the game but at the last minute didn't. Wish I did now though, what a cracker!

Also, from the look of the first half at the g, Essendon are looking sensational and definately top 4 material!
