- VEII SSV Redline
It started with a misfire on #6, An AFM lifter spun in it's guide and damaged a cam lobe. Cam has been replaces with a new original GM cam of the same specification. A complete new set of original GM lifters have been installed along with new guides. All original GM gaskets etc have been used. The car has only 138,000 km since new and I have owned it since new, A Manual 6.0L Gen 4 V8, VE series 2 SSV Redline. All services were done and premium oil always used. This inside of the engine is very clean. Leakdown test has been done on all cylinders and come up as close to perfect as you can get. All work had been done by a fully qualified mechanic.
The issue now is as follows. When cranking on the battery, and coils disconnected, all lifters are working and operating the valves. When the coils are connected and the engine starts, AFM lifters only work for a couple of seconds, then deactivate and #1, #4, #6 & #7 inlet stop working and engine code reports multiple misfire and MAF sensor codes.
Have tried replacing the LOMA (Lifter Oil Manifold Assebly) with a DOD delete one, but this had made no difference to the problem.
Can anyone suggest a suitable fix for this issue? What could cause the AFM lifters to De Latch when they receive oil pressure?
