My new daily.
2015 my16 Hyundai i30 SR premium
My first 4 cylinder in 26 years.
Also the newest 4 wheeled convenience I've ever owned . At 3 years old.
Convenience over the maloo 100% plus , features over maloo 100% plus ,
Character over maloo = no where near

Not on the same planet !!!!!

Enjoyment = time will tell . ( although trouble free will be a huge plus).

To be honest performance is , when totally up them , I'm guessing very similar ( straight line) . different handing characterizes, still have to get use to the hatch.

Plans
I can't help myself = can you get a cat back for this ? no sound !!!!

Went up to missus place yesterday morning, ( to organize up coming cruise details,) first proper drive of it ., ,
She also gave a seal of aprovement , as in I'm guessing the next time we go away she will go what , why are we taking this crappie ute away!!!!!

It's a modern warm hatch, ( entertaining performance ) with lots of features , helps that looking at Carsales I couldn't have got a cheaper one. ( Very happy with the deal in the end).
It is a nice drive and i just have to remember ( also fortunate) ( can't express that enough )
that I can get in a couple of modern classic Aussie muscle cars when the need really appeals .

Ha ha ha , she actually likes silver.
If I'd had a choice, would have been grey or maybe white but you don't get those choices when going second hand.
One good thing about it being red ,the big ugly reflectors in the rear bar blend a little ( sort of).
She was going on about all the features , leather, sunroof , heated/cooled front seats, sat nav, push start . Don't even need to take the key out of your pocket, walk up press a button on the door handle.
There's lights in the front door handles and bottom of the mirrors so you don't need a torch to fiddle around ( not that you need to try and put a key in).
The mirrors are even heated for fxxk sake.
All this and more in something that was a bit over 30k plus on roads when new.
No wonder the Aussie car makers struggled

Well, it didn't take long, first mod about half complete.
To be fair I'd pretty much decided to do this as soon as I decided to buy it.
I've had the grey plasidip for a while ,planning to do monaro badges ( which hasn't happened ).
So today started doing badges and bright trim.
Don't know how you can notice a difference in the front shot but the staino strips are done.
Wasn't that successful with the back sr badge, because I wanted to remove it from the red middle of the r and it hasn't separated that nicely.
Try using something else for the side ones tomorrow.
Now at least it looks slightly different to all the other i30s ( maybe)

You truly have the disease if you are modifying a i30

It would appear that I do have a bit of a problem.
I'd be lieing if I said I hadn't Googled after market parts and found a place in the states that does body kits for this model.
But seriously I'd say this is it , I need to behave .
That and there's plenty of more important things to do, ( I also like everyone else do not have an endless supply of money).
Those chrome badges just shxt me so they had to be done.
That and like I said anything to make it look a little different.
There were 3 of us at a set of lights the other arvo and there were only 6 cars there.
I'm not used to that, I'm more used to wow there's another vechice similar to mine, haven't seen any today or this week.

Captain sensible is going to be sold!!!!

Picked up it's replacement yesterday.
= I'm stupid but it's replacement will cost more in maintenance wise and I'm surely going to mod it !!!!!!
But !!! Its a driver's car and soo much more fun to drive .

Have been thinking of / love the
bmw 130i hatch for a long long time ( since before the maloo auto **** its self )

But that's not it !!! Couldn't bring myself to it's age and maintenance = maybe.
!!

So still front wheel drive and a few years ago = a hot hatch

Will post a new thread !!!!
