I have VZ S ute and had a pioneer headunit install, but now i have lost most of my options menu. the menu is the one when you start the car and push the arrows. has anyone else had this problem.
things missing headlights off delay, h/l appoarch time, auto h/l sensitivity, courtesy lamp timeout, ingition off courtesy lamp, intermittent wiper speed, two stage unlock, door lock indication and last one accessory control. they are all the one i dont see anymore,
so this thread is for people who have had aftermarket headunit installed.
what type of headunit and does your options menu have every thing still.

    thanks for any help :ranting:

They were all controlled by the original headunit. Well, not controlled as such but it was a vital peice of the chain.

Seen it time and time again. Holden understands Holden, not Blaupunkt.

I Had a pioneer unit installed in my VY and have not had any problems, I made sure that I turned off the stereo display before the install was done, maybe check this and see it that was done???.

hmmm, sounds scary, I'm about to buy a VY Exec... and want to install a bigger mp3 player (or dvd screen, depending on funds, fingers crossed!)

I'm guessing you had no problems with the install either VY2ENJOY?

Morgasshk, I had no problems at all, the only thing I lost was the use of the steering wheel controls (which can be fixed with a CAT device, but I didnt want to pay the $200 at the time but i am thinking about it now) and I lost the stereo display on the dash, which only showed volume, radio station or CD number, I lost no other functionality in the car or the dash disply, replaced all the door speakers as well as a 10inch sub in the back (I have a wagon), Mate dont be put off, I was to start off with but you will find most people are guessing about things!. Find a good installer (I had my head unit installed, and did the rest myself) and you will have no worries at all. Like I said make sure that you turn the display off in the dash (via the start up menu) before the install and you will have nothing but loud crisp sound!.
    Hope this helps

    Enjoy.

    Appreciate the advice mate.

I'll just do the Stinger/CAT adapter at the same time, should be fine. :)

    Have a good one.

    Try this

wgs150, I was stuffing around with my options menu last night and noticed that when you press the menu button to go to the mext item, I had to hold it in for a couple of seconds and it changed when i released the menu button, give this a go and see what happens. Let us know of your out come, as it has me quite intrigued.
